How it works

Crew Scheduling, step by step

1

Assign the job, then assign the lines

Name who did each service, like two on the ceramic and one on the interior. An empty line reads "Anyone on the job" and changes nothing.

2

The clash gets refused before you make it

Before an assignment sticks, Strata checks if the person is deactivated, away or already booked. Time off refuses outright. Working hours only warn.

3

Each person opens the app to their own day

Technicians see only their own work. Each job spells out "Yours: Ceramic coating" and "Also on this car: Interior detail," so split cars read correctly.

4

Hours, time off and pay sit on the person

Set each person's working week, time off and pay: hourly, a commission percentage, or not tracked. Pull earnings by technician for any date range.

Assignment goes all the way down to the service

Most software stops at who has the car. Name a person on each service, or two on one. Pay and each person's view read from it.

Pay follows the line, and the parts add up to the whole

Job money splits by line price to whoever is on each line. Commission uses the subtotal, not sales tax or admin fee. Only completed jobs count.

A technician's view is narrow on purpose

Technicians get no line pricing and no customer email, phone or address. One exception: the assigned technician on a mobile job gets the service address.

Away is absolute, hours are a pattern

Time off refuses the assignment. Working hours come back as a warning you can push past. The picker can show "Away until Friday" beside a name.

What you get

A shared car gets recorded the way it was worked: two on the coating, one on the interior

Nobody gets assigned to a day they're away, or to a stretch they're already booked for

Your crew opens the app to their own work instead of hunting for themselves in the whole board

Commission is paid on the work, not on sales tax or your admin fee

Techs never see line pricing or a customer's phone number; the address on their own mobile job is the one exception

Hours, time off, pay type and rate live on the person instead of in your head

Crew Scheduling questions

How is this different from the scheduling page?

The calendar is about the shop's time: what's booked, how long, which bay. This is about people: who is on each service, what they see, when they're available and what they earned.

What if I never assign anyone to a service line?

Nothing changes. A line with nobody on it belongs to whoever is on the job, and earnings split between the assigned technician and crew as before.

Can a technician see what the job is worth?

Not unless you hand them the pricing key. Prices, totals and customer email, phone and address are stripped out. A mobile job assigned to them does carry the service address.

How does commission work on a car two people shared?

It's split, not paid twice. Where service lines name people, the job's money is weighted by line price, then split among whoever is on that line. Only completed jobs count.
