Text Messaging Terms
Strata CRM is used by automotive service businesses to text their own customers about appointments and work. This page explains who is sending those messages, what they contain, how consent is collected, and how to stop them.
Who is sending the message
The shop you booked with is the business texting you. Strata CRM, operated by S Solutions LLC, provides the software and the registered messaging service that delivers those texts on the shop's behalf, and automated messages sent from Strata's lines always name the shop they are from. If you no longer want messages, reply STOP to the number that texted you. Some shops text from a messaging account of their own, where STOP applies to that shop alone; others text from Strata's shared texting line or a number Strata provides, where STOP also stops texts from the other shops that text through Strata. Reply START to the same number to receive texts again.
How permission to text is collected
Booking online does not by itself sign you up for texts. A shop's customers reach its texting in these ways:
- On the shop's online booking page, beside the mobile number field, is a checkbox that is unchecked by default: “Text me about my appointment”. If you are new to that shop, you get automated appointment texts only if you tick it. It is not required, and your booking completes without it. If the shop already had your permission, leaving it unchecked does not withdraw that; reply STOP to end texts.
- “Send me occasional offers and reminders to book again” is a second, separate checkbox, also unchecked by default, for marketing and promotional messages. Declining it does not affect your booking or your appointment texts.
- A disclosure naming the shop, the message types, the frequency, the message and data rates, and the STOP and HELP instructions is displayed on the booking page itself, directly beneath that checkbox, before the customer books. It is never behind a link or a toggle.
- On a shop's request form, the mobile number field carries a notice that by providing a number you agree to texts from that shop replying to your request. The same separate, unchecked box governs marketing messages there.
- If you book by phone or in person, or the shop brings its existing customers into Strata, the shop adds your number and is responsible for having your permission to text you.
- If you call or text the shop first, you may get a reply, including an automatic text back after a missed call.
- Strata does not buy, rent, sell, or share phone numbers. Shops agree not to upload purchased lists, and a shop that imports its customers must confirm it has their permission to text them.
What kind of messages you may receive
- Appointment confirmations and booking-request updates.
- Appointment reminders before your visit.
- A notice when the shop cancels your appointment, sent as soon as it happens.
- The shop's answer when you ask to change your appointment.
- Quotes and estimates you asked for, and payment receipts.
- A reply when you contact the shop, or a text back after a missed call.
- A follow-up on a request you made and did not answer.
- A six-digit code when you ask for one on a shop's booking page, to fill in the details the shop has for you.
- Review requests after a completed job, a follow-up on a quote you have not answered, occasional follow-ups if you are overdue for service, an offer to add something to a visit you booked, a note after a finished job asking you to send a friend our way, and a check-in before a warranty you registered ends, with an offer to look it over. These are the marketing messages. They go only to customers who have not opted out and whom the shop confirms have agreed, by the box on the booking page or directly with the shop; a customer who replied STOP, or who was imported without consent, gets none.
How often, and what it costs
Message frequency varies with your own activity: booking a job, being reminded about it, and being asked for a review each generate a message, so most customers receive a small number per visit. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier. Neither Strata nor the shop charges you for text messages.
How to stop messages
Reply STOP to any message. Messages from that number stop immediately.
- STOP, STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT, and REVOKE are all honored.
- A reply of CANCEL to an appointment text also cancels that appointment, as well as stopping texts. To cancel the visit and keep your texts, call the shop.
- Reply START or UNSTOP to begin receiving messages again.
- Reply HELP for help, or contact the shop directly. You can also email support@stratacrm.app.
- If the shop texts from a messaging account of its own, opting out applies to that shop alone. If it texts from Strata's shared texting line or a number Strata provides, STOP applies to Strata's texting service, so it also stops texts from the other shops that text through it, and START turns them back on.
Quiet hours
Automated appointment reminders are not sent between 9:00pm and 8:00am, and review requests and other marketing texts are not sent between 8:00pm and 8:00am. We apply those hours in the shop's time zone and, where your area code points to a different time zone, in that one too. A text that comes due in those hours is held until morning. Texts a person at the shop sends by hand, and texts triggered by something that has just happened, such as a booking confirmation, an update on a booking request, a code you asked for on a booking page, an estimate the shop sends you, a payment receipt, or a reply to your call or text, are sent right away. A text the shop starts from its dashboard, such as an offer, waits for the morning when it falls in those hours.
Carrier and delivery
Messages are delivered through Twilio and your mobile carrier. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery is not guaranteed, and neither Strata nor the shop can guarantee that a specific message reaches a specific handset at a specific time.
Your information
Mobile numbers and message content are used to deliver these messages and to show the shop its own conversation history. No mobile information is shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties, except the aggregators and providers that deliver the text messages, such as Twilio and the mobile carriers. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
